When a guest returned to our bed and breakfast with three precious sweaters from an afternoon of shopping and made the comment quoted above - 'A granddaughter can never have too many white sweaters'-- the idea for Granma Rhoda's Baby and Toddler Sweaters for both boys and girls was born.
With the vast array of specialty yarns on the market today, my baby sweater project evolved from the basic white infant and toddler sweater to multi-color, multi-texture hooded sweaters and cardigans. Each sweater is washable.
Most of the sweaters are donated to the Saint Rose Convent in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, for sale in their gift shop. But there are usually a few available at Long Hill Bed & Breakfast for guests who are looking for a gift for their own babies, grandchildren, or as a shower gift. Hand crafted gifts are always popular as shower and newborn gifts.
