Experience Walking Plus!! for the walk of your life. Walking is a popular activity year round at Long Hill Bed & Breakfast, and our terrain varies from flat to a gradual rise to a steep slope. We've just added a new element for our guests -- Walking Plus!! Nordic Walking!
Walking with Nordic Walking Poles adds an amazing dimension to basic walking - a full body workout with less effort and less strain. The benefits of walking with poles are cited as being low impact with reduced strain on legs, knees, feet, back, and joints; burning up to 40% more calories than walking without poles; equivalent of a five mile walk in just three miles; - and you don't need skis or snow to enjoy this sport. The poles provide support and balance and provide a great upper body workout.
While vacationing in Finland we saw folks walking with poles everywhere we went - parks, bike trails, and sidewalks. Folks were walking, jogging, roller-blading, even walking a dog. Walking with poles is popular in and of itself and is also a great cross-training technique for skiing, cross-country skiing, and other sports. We talked with people who walk with poles, and we read articles about Nordic Walking - and we feel that the Finns really have a good thing going. Walking with poles is a wonderful exercise, and we are pleased to bring this expanded way of walking to Long Hill so we can share it with our guests. We are excited to be able to offer our guests a free opportunity to try out Nordic Walking Poles.
Come stay at Long Hill Bed & Breakfast and experience Walking Plus!!. Our guests are welcome to try out our Nordic Walking Poles. The poles are light-weight, adjustable for height, spring-loaded for comfort, and have palm protector hand straps. There is no extra charge for the use of the poles as you test out this fabulous way of walking. All the equipment you will need is clothing for the weather and good walking shoes.
